Body Image – When did young girls start caring how they looked

This one is from deep in the archives but it hit a note with me. Having a daughter myself, I want her to grow up being comfortable in her own skin. The media has created an unrealistic image of what both men and women should look like. This post will help parents to deal with body image with young girls. It is important that we protect our daughters from the media and create an environment whereby they accept their bodies as they are.

This is one of the best blog posts that I have read from any parent. It is just so practical and helpful. I have used many of these tips with great success. A warm bath before bed, a white noise app and singing the same song or saying the same thing before bed. Tips to Help Your Kids Eat Healthier

This is a very helpful post for all parents. It is so easy to be lazy and feed your kids whatever is quickest, which usually means something unhealthy. I totally agree with Linda when she says being prepared and planning are a big part of your child eating healthily. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Another great post of Linda’s is on work-life balance. You can read about it here.

About

APUK was founded by Michelle McHale in 2012. It was launched as non-profit and has seen incredible growth since its inception. What is attachment parenting? AP is a parenting style/philosophy that promotes maximum contact between mother/father and child. I discovered it pretty early as my son is what is known as a velcro baby. You could not put him down without him crying. It meant that my wife and I constantly wore him in a solly baby wrap. APUK are doing a lot to promote this philosophy through courses, conferences, support groups and their website/blog. It is a must-read for any parent.

Meditation in Motherhood

There is a lot to chose from on the blog but my favourite is this post about discovering meditation in motherhood. I love this post because I can relate to it so much. Meditation was something that I discovered when my wife and I went through IVF treatment. 2 years later it is something that I still do every day. It is a great help with parenting.

I hope you enjoyed my list of blogs that will make you a better parent in 2018. I would love to hear your thoughts below and if you think there is anyone that I missed.
